This is a case report of vulval allergic contact dermatitis to acrylates found in female absorbent hygiene products (AHP). 

 

The authors suggest, it is important for AHP users, general practitioners, and gynecologists to be aware of this problem to enable better detection and treatment.

UV cannot be seen or felt. It is not like the sun’s light which we see, or the sun’s warmth (infrared radiation) which we feel. Our senses cannot detect UV so it can be damaging without us knowing.

Thank you to the AMC 2023 for inviting me to speak at the conference to provide updates from the Primary Melanoma Project, a QLD cohort study investigating risk factors for melanoma recurrence.

 

The conference was extremely well attended by Dermatologists, Surgeons, Pathologists, Oncologists, General Practitioners and more.  I look forward to the next multidisciplinary melanoma conference.
